The Reflecting Pool
31 July 2009 | Uncategorized | No Responses
As a fan and student of photography, I’ve decided to introduce one of my favorites, Photographer Richard Powers. Though self-taught, he is recognized for capturing architecture and interiors illustrating his simplicity and masterstroke of artistry. “The Reflecting Pool” was a shoot designated to a home in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Take look for yourselves.

A huge fan of modern arts with futuristic accents, Melbourne’s own Ross Didier, Industrial designer provides us with “Obelisk”. His vision for ergonomic excellence lead to the creation of rectangular cubed sculptures designed with a tilt, accentuating its clarity for simplicity. The chairs and sofas are manufactured North West of England, by Allermuir, English-based company specializing in supplying high-quality contemporary seating for dining areas, lounges, and reception rooms. Obelisk is available in a wide variety of high quality fabrics and leathers. In other words go copp’ that.
Here are a few shots.

(R)obots on South Street.

While walking down South Street in Philadelphia last night, I bumped into these (R)obots. Word on the street is that they’re eveywhere. Keep an eye out for them in your city and “if you see them, point ‘em out!”
Stay alert.

…just for the look, and also to make the experience more authentic.
While passing through one of the many Chinatowns that we find ourselves in during a given week, Gilbere and I decided to sit down for some real Chinese food. Since I’m so daring, I went out on a limb and ordered fried rice. Can you hear my sarcasm? Anybody knows Gilbere will not be shocked to find out that he went with the fried squid and bean curd vegetable something-or-other, with hot herbal tea (in the summer time). Haha.
Apparently, this is what we ordered. Who can translate this line for line? I can’t tell if these are average Chinese characters or if our waiter had bad handwriting as well.
Name that fortune. Which is Dizzy’s and which is Gilbere’s?
THE CORNER: SOHO NEW YORK CITY, NY

Today’s the latest chapter of [The Corner] live from Soho, one of thee premiere hot spots in New York City. If your a New York native, need I explain? For those who rarely travel to NY, or haven’t made it this far east at all, I’d highly recommend Soho being added to your list of things to do. Premiere location and home to some of the illest boutiques from High-End to Street-wear Fashions. If your looking for a bite to eat? Stand directly on the corner of an intersection and [honestly] you decide. A few of the guys headed out to the city this morning for couple meetings. Here are a few shots from the corner of 6th Ave & White (Avenue of the Americas).

Lean & Green

Today for lunch, Gilbere (Robot Team) decided to head to Palm Tree Market & Deli (ie. lowkey and fresh). Every man or woman’s daily diet should consist of fresh veggies, and fresh food PERIOD. As one of the true health-oriented members on the team, he sure does prove it. He said as youngster, he was told that “he who eats right, succeeds life.”
Cliche or not my stomach is growling..
